JOLIET-North Benton Street, between Scott and Ottawa streets, will be closed beginning on Monday, September 9, 2019. The road closure on north Benton Street is expected to last approximately two days.
During the afternoon of Monday, September 9, 2019, north Chicago Street will have a posted detour and road closure between W. Crowley Avenue and W. Webster Street, for a period of approximately two hours. In addition to the two short term road closures, N. Scott Street will have a lane closure on the westernmost northbound lane for approximately two days.
These traffic modifications are required due to the City’s Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Program. Drivers should be prepared for delays or seek an alternate route, and are reminded to slow down and use extreme caution when driving in the vicinity of the work zone. Obey posted speed limits, signing and watch for workers or flaggers. For the safety of workers and drivers do not use cell phones or text.
