$10 Million Bond Set for Suspect in Fatal Shooting of 16-Year-Old in Joliet

JOLIET, Ill. – Eleuterio Roman, a 20-year-old suspect in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old in Joliet, has been arrested on Murder charges and is being held on a bond of $10 million. 

Roman is facing charges of three counts of First-Degree Murder stemming from an incident last September.  Roman is also facing one count of Attempted First-Degree Murder, and one count of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.

On September 5th, 2022, Joliet Police were called to the 1800 block of McDonough Street for a report of shots fired. They arrived to find a 13-year-old victim who had been grazed by a bullet and a 16-year-old who was transported to St. Joseph Medical Center but later died from their injuries.

Following an investigation, Roman was identified as a suspect and was subsequently taken into custody. The $10 million bond has been set as the case proceeds.
