JOLIET, Ill. – A motorcycle crash in Joliet Saturday night left a 58-year-old Lockport man fighting for his life.

Accused to Joliet Police reports the incident occurred at the intersection of Jefferson Street and Houbolt Road at approximately 9:16 PM. Joliet Police were dispatched to the scene in response to a motorcycle crash with reported injuries.

Authorities say the Lockport man was operating a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, heading westbound on West Jefferson Street towards Houbolt Road when the bike collided with the rear of a Kia Sportage being driven by a 65-year-old woman from Channahon. Both vehicles were in the same lane at the time of impact.

The force of the collision ejected the motorcyclist from his bike, resulting in critical injuries.

The roadway was closed for several hours to facilitate the investigation.
