Field concerns are the cause for the move of Slammers Fest, that was announced this past Spring, from Dupage Medical Group Field in Joliet to 350 Soundstage in Tinley Park.
The announcement comes after concerns grew for equipment coming into the venue. The announcement was made via Joliet Mayor Bob O’Dekirk’s facebook page earlier this week:
“Slammers Fest with Everclear, Bowling for Soup and Alien Ant Farm will be changing venues due to field concerns with staging,” the social media post read. “We don’t want to take the chance of damaging their new million dollar state of the art turf field … Slammers Fest will be held at our new venue, 350 Soundstage in Tinley Park. When life hands you lemons you throw a FREE PARTY in your backyard! THIS IS NOW A FREE SHOW! Full refunds will be issued to those awesome people who already purchased tickets.” via John Wilson, Joliet Slammers VP of Sales and Marketing.
Fans are receiving refunds that previously purchased tickets as the concert will now be a free show at 350 Soundstage in Tinley Park. 350 Brewing Company in Tinley Park was a co-sponsor for the concert in Joliet. The concert takes place on August 10th.
