Lombard, IL – Lombard Police Respond to Mental Health Crisis, School goes on Soft Lockdown

Lombard, IL –  Hammerschmidt Elementary School was briefly placed on a soft lockdown today following a mental health incident in the nearby area. 

According to Lombard Police, officers were dispatched to the vicinity of Craig Place and Martha Street due to a person experiencing a mental health crisis. As a precautionary measure, the school was notified, leading to the temporary lockdown.

The police have since secured the area, assuring that there is no immediate threat to the public. The lockdown at Hammerschmidt Elementary has been lifted. 

Details about the incident remain limited as the investigation continues. Lombard Police have not released any additional information at this time.
