Kent County, MI – A fundraiser for Kadie L. Price, the heroic mother who died after saving her 2-year-old daughter at Silver Lake Sand Dunes, has raised nearly $25,000 in under 24 hours.
Price, 33, was at Silver Lake State Park near Mears on Sunday, watching drag races when a Jeep CJ, driven by a 64-year-old man, lost control and veered towards the spectators. In a heroic act, Price pushed her daughter to safety just before the Jeep struck her. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, Price succumbed to her injuries.
Price was the wife of Kent County Sheriff’s Deputy Charlie Price and the mother of two toddlers. The Kent County Sheriff’s Office did not issue a statement on Monday, but it is evident that the agency is rallying to support Deputy Price and his family during this tragic time.
Witnesses described the scene as horrific. The Oceana County Sheriff’s Department, which is conducting the ongoing investigation.
