Oak Forest, IL – Resident Shot While Pursuing Vehicle Burglars

Oak Forest, IL – A resident was shot while chasing suspected vehicle burglars early Friday morning.

According to Oak Forest Police, the incident occurred at 1:54 a.m. in the 16900 block of Leclaire Avenue. The resident observed several unknown individuals near his property and neighboring properties. As the suspects fled, the resident pursued them, leading to an exchange of gunfire. The resident was struck twice and is currently in stable condition at a local hospital. Authorities noted two dark-colored vehicles leaving the area following the shooting.
