Orland Park, IL – Community Warned of “Sweetheart Scams” at Upcoming Safety Presentation

Orland Park, IL – Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart and Orland Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady have announced a Senior Citizen Safety & Crime Prevention presentation to address the rising concern of “Sweetheart Scams.” 

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the event is scheduled for February 7 at 11:00 AM at the Orland Township Senior Center, with the aim to educate attendees on recognizing and preventing this manipulative form of fraud. 

Participants will learn the tactics used in these scams, why seniors are often targeted, and will receive practical tips to protect themselves from becoming victims. The initiative underscores the community’s proactive approach to safeguarding its senior population. Interested individuals are encouraged to register by contacting the Orland Township Office.
