Peoria, IL – An intensive operation led by the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigation Division (SID), alongside the PPD SWAT Team and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), resulted in a significant arrest in Peoria. The raid, which occurred on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at around 6:40 a.m., focused on an apartment in the 800 block of W. Crestwood, as per the Peoria Police Department’s report.
During the operation, 34-year-old Johnathan S. Sargent was taken into custody. Searches conducted at this apartment, as well as a residence in the 2800 block of W. James Road, led to the reported seizure of illegal drugs, drug-related equipment, currency, and a firearm.
Sargent was initially taken to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing and was subsequently arrested on several federal charges. These charges include Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin and Cocaine, Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime, and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person. He is currently being held at the Peoria County Jail.
