Peoria, IL – Bradley University Addresses Anti-Semitic Vandalism at Three Campus Locations

Peoria, IL – Bradley University is taking decisive action against a series of anti-Semitic vandalism and intimidation incidents had been discovered overnight at three different locations on its campus. 

According to university officials, the reprehensible acts targeted the Jewish community, challenging the university’s foundational values of inclusivity and safety. Bradley University President Stephen Standifird has articulated the institution’s strict non-tolerance stance towards any expression of bias, hatred, violence, or intimidation. The Bradley University Police Department (BUPD) is conducting thorough investigations into these incidents. 

“Bradley University has no tolerance for acts of bias, hatred, violence, or intimidation toward ANY member of our community,” President Stephen Standifird said in a letter to students and faculty Friday afternoon. “Regardless of how you identify, this is a place you should feel safe. Those responsible will be found and held accountable.”

Standifird has directed several immediate responses, including boosting support services for impacted individuals, and enhancing safety and security measures, in partnership with the Peoria Police Department, to prevent future occurrences. 

“I want to reiterate, in the strongest of terms, that Bradley University will not tolerate any act targeting members of our community, especially if those acts are based on any aspect of antisemitism, race, gender, sexuality, national origin, religion, etc.” Standifird wrote. “We have a moral and ethical responsibility to protect everyone who chooses to call Bradley University home.

The administration’s firm commitment to maintaining a secure campus atmosphere is evident as they work to ensure the well-being of every member of the university community. Updates will be communicated as the investigation continues.
