Peoria, IL – Homicide Shakes West Lincoln Avenue

Peoria, IL – A quiet neighborhood in Peoria was disrupted Monday evening when the Peoria Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating gunfire in the 2100 block of West Lincoln Avenue.

According to the Peoria Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 5:04 pm when officers discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound upon arrival. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by officers and subsequent intervention by AMT and PFD, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Unit have begun a thorough investigation into the homicide. Further details about the victim and the circumstances of the death are expected from the Peoria County Coroner’s office.
