Post Office Neighbor Falls Victim to Devastating Midnight Blaze in Herscher

HERSCHER – A raging fire erupted late Thursday night, engulfing a residence in the 200 Block of South Main Street. 

The house, located in the 200 Block of Main Street, shares a property line with the local post office, succumbed to the blaze around midnight. Rapid response from Pilot Township Fire Department averted further destruction, but the charred aftermath serves as a grim reminder. 

As investigators work to determine the cause, no injuries have been reported.
