BOURBONNAIS – A traffic control box at the intersection of Route 45 and Dennison Drive was hit over the weekend. Village officials brought residents up to date on the situation Monday during a village board meeting.

According to reports, the box was hit, knocked from its base, and caught fire, compromising everything inside of the box.

Since the incident, a new box has been ordered.

Village officials are working to issue a temporary fix to get lights of the emergency flashing mode but are asking residents to be patient until repairs are complete.
