Medford, Oregon – Temperatures are set to drop below freezing across southern Oregon early Friday, putting crops, plants, and plumbing at risk during the early morning hours.

According to the National Weather Service in Medford, a Freeze Warning remains in effect from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday for Jackson, Josephine, and eastern Curry counties, as well as parts of western Siskiyou County in northern California. Overnight lows could fall to 25 degrees in valleys including the Rogue, Applegate, Illinois, and Klamath River مناطق.

Communities including Medford, Ashland, Grants Pass, and Cave Junction are all expected to see freezing conditions during the pre-dawn hours. Sensitive vegetation is especially vulnerable, as the growing season has already begun across much of the region.

Residents should cover or bring in plants, protect outdoor plumbing, and ensure irrigation systems are winterized ahead of the cold snap. Even a few hours below freezing can cause significant damage to crops and gardens.

Conditions will improve after 9 a.m. Friday as temperatures rise, but additional cold mornings remain possible. Further advisories could be issued if freezing temperatures persist.
