JOLIET – An Illinois State Trooper is recovering after being hit early this morning head-on by a driver.

According to reports, it happened at 1:25 am after the Illinois State Trooper stationed a vehicle to assist in directing traffic near Route 126.  That’s when a 2017 black Acura reportedly crashed head-on into the Trooper’s squad car, causing the injuries.  The Trooper was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.  The driver of the Acura, 36-year-old Liem T. Ngyen of Joliet, was charged with violation of Scott’s Law and Driving Under the Influence.
