Teen shot, killed overnight in Downtown Kankakee

KANKAKEE – A 15-year-old died of a gunshot wound overnight.

According to Kankakee City Police, it happen just after midnight last night in the 100 block of West Court Street.  The teen was found on a sidewalk on the corner of 100 block of North Washington Avenue.

A suspected shooter fled the scene.  The victim was identified as Maurice M. Wilson of Kankakee who was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by Kankakee Fire where he died of his injuries.

Police are investigating the incident.  Anyone with information is asked to contact City Detectives at 815-933-0426.
