PEOTONE – After a rough start and loosing a few tents, the Hot Air Balloon Festival will go on as scheduled later tonight with gates opening at 5pm tonight.

Organizers are preparing attendees that high winds in the area could be an issue for ballooning today with balloons unlikely to go up until later this evening.

“Sunday looks like a nice afternoon with low winds after 7PM which could allow us to set up balloons much sooner. The Balloon Festival is prepared to stay open until at least 11pm if balloons set up late,” Peotone Hot Air Balloon Festival said in a statement posted to Facebook this morning.

Tickets to this years event are limited but still available and can be purchased here.
