Terrifying Attack in Kankakee: Man’s Vehicle Riddled with Bullets, Shot in Back

KANKAKEE, Ill. – A man’s vehicle was riddled with bullets and left him shot in the back Saturday. 

According to Kankakee City Police, officers rushed to the scene in the 700 block of E. Court Street, responding to reports of shots fired. As the officers arrived, they spotted a black sedan that was potentially involved in the incident heading westbound on E. Court Street. 

The driver, identified as a 24-year-old man, pulled into a parking lot near Court St. and Dearborn Ave., visibly distressed. Officers soon found the man had been shot in his back and admitted aid while waiting on an ambulance to arrive on scene. The victim’s injuries were later confirmed to be non-life-threatening. 

Kankakee City Detectives are now actively investigating the matter, urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the Detective Bureau at 815-933-0426.
