Herscher, IL – Herscher Police have made a significant arrest in connection with an alleged home invasion.

According to police the incident, which unfolded on Sunday night, has resulted in charges of home invasion and battery for 41-year-old Randy Barber Jr.  Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of North Elm at approximately 10:30 PM on Sunday night. A woman at the residence reported that Barber had allegedly entered her home without permission and made unwarranted advances towards her. The woman revealed to law enforcement that she and Barber had initially connected through social media. She was able to convince him to leave her residence without further incident.

The unsettling events continued the following morning. On Monday, authorities responded to a call at another Herscher residence, where it was alleged that Barber had physically assaulted his girlfriend. These developments led to Barber’s subsequent arrest.
