Will County, IL – New Drug Take-Back Box Available at Coroner’s Office

Will County, IL – A new drug takeback box will soon be available in the county beginning next Monday.

The Will County Coroner’s Office, in collaboration with Will County Green and Med Return, has unveiled a new Medication Take-Back Kiosk. Located at 16857 W. Laraway Rd in Joliet, the kiosk provides a secure place for the disposal of unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications. Aimed at preventing accidental ingestion by children and contamination of water supplies, the kiosk excludes sharps, needles, and inhalers. All collected medications will be safely disposed of by the Will County Coroner’s Office. 

Starting from Monday, March 18, 2024, the public can access the kiosk from 8:30 am to 4:40 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. For further details, the Will County Coroner’s Office can be contacted at 815-727-8455 during business hours.
