Braidwood, IL – The Braidwood Emergency Services and Disaster Agency (ESDA) has issued a red flag advisory for Monday, urging residents to exercise extreme caution due to elevated fire danger and strong winds expected throughout the area.

According to ESDA, wind gusts could reach up to 40 to 45 mph, with afternoon relative humidity values dropping to 30 to 35 percent amidst dry conditions. This combination significantly increases the risk of grass or brush fires, which could become difficult to control if ignited.

Officials strongly advise against any outdoor burning, open flames, and recommend careful disposal of smoking materials in anticipation of the storm system forecasted to move in on Tuesday.
