Wilmington, OH – A flood warning has been issued for parts of southeast Indiana and southwest Ohio, including Dearborn, Franklin, and Ripley counties in Indiana, as well as Butler and Hamilton counties in Ohio.
The National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio, announced the alert, which remains in effect until 8:45 AM EDT Wednesday. This follows nearly 3 inches of rainfall, leading to significant flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying areas.
Local law enforcement reported widespread flooding, with numerous roads closed and low-water crossings inundated. Residents are urged to avoid floodwaters, especially at night when the dangers are more difficult to recognize. Affected cities include Cincinnati, Hamilton, Fairfield, and others. While no further rainfall is expected, the impacts of the current flooding are likely to continue through the morning.
