BOURBONNAIS – State Senator Patrick Joyce (D) of Essex will see his first full term in office next year in Illinois State Senate District 40.

Illinois State Senate District 40 represents areas of Kankakee, Will, Grundy and Cook Counties.

After the votes were tallied Tuesday, Joyce won a large margin of votes in Cook County, but won by razor thin margins in Kankakee County.  Joyce received 20,116 votes by the end of the night in the area with challenger Republican Eric M.
