1.) Bad example
So listen, like him or hate him Gov. Pritzker has been very on message from the start about gatherings and the number of in one place. Now, while by July we could perhaps be in stage four, It would still be a bad example to set to let the NHL or any sports league host games in the state.
I seriously doubt that we will see proper distancing from the players and I seriously doubt they will be wearing masks. In my opinion the people who wish to defy the Governor’s orders and speak out against him, will use bringing in the NHL’s teams and personnel against the Governor.
Sports has done one thing incredibly well in the social media era and especially in COVID-19 times, make the players out to be humans. With athletes so humanized in today’s day an attempt to host games in Chicago would cause this line of thought, well if the Blackhawks can all sit together with no masks it must be safe, Im not gonna wear a mask. It is dangerous to have Chicago be the host.
