4.) Is Chicago really the best city?
Honestly, let us think about this for a second. Plenty of these cities under consideration have been less hard hit, one of these has more hotels and housing, Vegas.
Perhaps this is a marketing opportunity for the NHL to try and draw fans once they come back by showing off the stadium and area (after all, those crowd shots need to be replaced by something) Columbus or Minneapolis would make sense here.
A place with a richer hockey tradition and close by colleges so you can host games in more than one building to speed up the process and limit the danger of an outbreak would be good. Score another point for Minneapolis.
In all honesty the Western city needs to be Minneapolis and the east city should be Pittsburgh.
Not only does it not make sense for the health of the state, the sanity of anyone in it or the Blackhawks future to play the western conference games in Chicago. It’s not even the best place to do it!
