Nashville, TN – An Amazon delivery worker was reportedly kidnapped and raped early Friday morning at an apartment complex in Nashville, leading to the swift arrest of a repeat offender. The incident occurred at 723 President Ronald Reagan Way, where 34-year-old Carl Jerome Hamilton allegedly attacked the 25-year-old female worker in the mailroom around 4 a.m.

According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, Hamilton forced the victim into the mailroom, assaulted her, and later used her vehicle to drive to an ATM, withdrawing $100 with her debit card. Surveillance footage and prior familiarity of the building manager with Hamilton, who recognized him from previous trespassing arrests, aided in his immediate apprehension as he passed by the building.

Hamilton faces charges of aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping, and robbery. This follows his previous convictions, including a 2020 kidnapping and robbery for which he was sentenced in July 2022 to six years in prison.
