Nashville, TN – Metro Employee Struck by Car Over Parking Dispute, Motorist Held on $50K Bond

Nashville, TN – A parking dispute turned violent on 6th Avenue North near Union Street in Nashville when a Metro Nashville Department of Transportation employee was hit by a car. 

The incident occurred as the employee was trying to issue a parking ticket to 24-year-old Jacobi Austin for his improperly parked Ford sedan. According to Metro Nashville Police, Austin allegedly escalated the situation by striking the employee with his vehicle after a confrontation over the parking citation. 

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Austin has been charged with aggravated assault and is currently detained on a $50,000 bond.
