East Harris County, TX – East Harris County is experiencing significant traffic disruptions this Friday evening due to a major crash involving an 18-wheeler on the East Freeway near Decker.

The incident, involving a truck carrying an oversized load, resulted in the closure of both westbound and inbound lanes.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez reported that the driver, although trapped, sustained no injuries. Emergency response teams, including hazardous material units, are presently on-site addressing the spillage of diesel fuel and other potentially hazardous substances.

Given the scale of the accident and the nature of the spill, traffic is expected to be significantly affected for an extended period.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes as cleanup efforts and further investigations are underway. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office will provide updates as the situation develops.
