Champaign Man Fatally Stabbed in Domestic Dispute; Suspect in Custody

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – A 34-year-old man from Champaign lost his life on Sunday morning in a tragic stabbing incident during a domestic dispute. 

Champaign Police Department responded to the scene on the 600-block of W. Bradley Avenue after the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital with a life-threatening stab wound. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities have identified the suspect as 43-year-old Taneshia Brooks, also from Champaign. Brooks was taken into custody and is currently awaiting charges at the Champaign County Correctional Center.

An investigation remains ongoing, police are asking residents and businesses in the vicinity with surveillance cameras to assist in providing any information.
