MANTENO – Minit Mart in Manteno shut down Wednesday afternoon at 4pm after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. A company representative reached out to Country Herald with the information Thursday morning.
The store, located at 9051 North Route 45 in Manteno, will reopen in the coming days. It’s the second time a Mini Mart in Manteno has dealt with COVID issues among employees. In late September, a Mini Mart located at 101 Southcreek Drive in Manteno closed to guests for a short time due to the virus before reopening.
“One of Minit Mart’s Team Members at our 9051 North Route 45 Manteno, IL location has informed us that they have tested positive for Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). We are taking all appropriate steps following guidance from local health officials. We closed the store at 5:00 PM (EST) on Wednesday, November 18th to be cleaned and sanitized by an industrial cleaning crew. The store will re-open in the next few days. We are grateful to all our customers for their patience and understanding during this time.” Minit Mart said in a release. “All Team Members who work at the store have been contacted and advised to follow CDC-recommended guidelines. We are making every effort to provide the affected Team Member and our broader team with the necessary resources and support.”
