Mystery Gunman Strikes in Daylight: Peoria Man Shot While in Vehicle

PEORIA, IL – Peoria Police rushed to the 2400 block of W. Proctor Tuesday following a Shot Spotter alert, signaling a single gunshot fired. 

According to police reports, when officers arrived on the scene they found no immediate damage or victims. However, a short time later at 1:22 p.m., an adult male self-reported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound in his chest after an unidentified man approached his parked car and fired. Thankfully, his injuries are non-life threatening.

Peoria’s CID, CSU, and Patrol Unit have dived into the investigation. As the gunman remains at large, residents with any relevant details are urged to contact local authorities.
