Indiana Senator Demands Halt on Gaza Aid Amid Hamas Hostage Crisis

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Senator Mike Braun is pressing President Biden to halt all financial aid to Gaza following the revelation that Hamas militants are detaining as many as 10 American citizens. Braun’s strong remarks come on the heels of a Hamas-initiated attack that claimed the lives of 33 Americans on October 7.

Only a week prior, the Biden administration pledged $100 million in humanitarian aid to Hamas-governed Gaza without any attached conditions.

Although the White House emphasizes working alongside regional partners to “uphold the law of war,” there remains significant apprehension, including from within the Biden administration, over the potential misuse of this aid by Hamas for further terror operations. It’s unknown how many Americans remain trapped in Gaza overall.
