Goodwill has shut their doors in Illinois following the Illinois’ Stay-at-Home order, mega-thrift store announced on Saturday. Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin & Metro Chicago will temporarily close all of its 70 Retail Store & Donation Centers in the area, effective immediately.
The Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin & Metro Chicago network covers only Wisconsin and Illinois locations. Goodwill has four locations in our immediate area, with three in Will County including Frankfort, Joliet and New Lenox. Kankakee County only has one Goodwill location at 455 Main Street NW in Bourbonnais.
“During these difficult times, Goodwill is making every effort to make the right decisions to ensure that we will be able to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities and disadvantages well into the future. We recognize that this pandemic is creating safety concerns, uncertainty and hardships for everyone.” the organization said in a statement.

Other essential services in the company such as Goodwill’s Meals on Wheels program in Milwaukee County will remain open.
