Bradley Sex Crime Suspects Given $100,000 Bond Each

BRADLEY, III. – Richard Smith, 37, and Kayla Trout, 23, faced a judge to answer charges related to sex crimes against a juvenile victim this week.

According to Bradley Police reports, Smith is accused of sexually assaulting the victim, while Trout allegedly took nude photos of the victim and emailed them to Smith.

During the hearing, the judge set their bond at $100,000 each, with bail set at $10,000.  

Smith will face charges of Aggressive Criminal Sexual Abuse of a Minor and Possession of Child Pornography.  Prosecutors dropped three additional booking charges against Smith including grooming charges.  Meanwhile Trout will face one Child Pornography charge with three additional booking charges dropped by prosecutors.

An investigation into the incident began March 28th after officers received a report of a sexual incident that occurred in the 500 block of East Broadway. Both were arrested late Wednesday evening.
