JOLIET, Ill. – An Illinois man’s craving for a late-night feast took a comically wrong turn when he broke into a Joliet home.

According to police reports, it happened before 1 am Friday when Richard Redmond, 44, reportedly decided to cook up trouble in a homeowner’s kitchen after kicking in the back door. The hungry intruder was allegedly caught red-handed by the returning homeowner, interrupting his culinary caper while he attempted to cook a meal.

Redmond hastily fled but was apprehended by police. Now, he faces charges for burglary.
