Frankfort Park District Offers Babysitter Training to Foster Youth Leadership and Safety Skills

Frankfort, IL – Frankfort Park District is set to empower young individuals with essential childcare skills through its Babysitter Training program. The sessions, scheduled for April 15 and 17, aim to educate 11 to 15-year-olds in various aspects of babysitting, from safety to setting up a babysitting business.

According to the Frankfort Park District, the course promises comprehensive training, including leadership development and basic first aid, taught by instructor Donna Giove. Participants who complete the two-day course, running from 4:30 to 8:00 PM, will earn an American Red Cross Babysitters Training certificate. Enrollment is open, with a fee of $80 for residents and $85 for non-residents, at the Founders Community Center. The initiative underscores the district’s commitment to nurturing responsible young citizens equipped to contribute to community well-being.
