Greensville County, VA – A driver was resuscitated following a single-vehicle crash early Monday morning along Interstate 95, prompting an emergency response near the North Carolina border.
According to Virginia State Police, the crash occurred Monday, April 20, 2026, around 6:32 a.m. on I-95 northbound near the 10-mile marker in Greensville County, close to the Dry Bread Road overpass. Troopers arriving on scene located the vehicle behind a guardrail and found the driver unresponsive and not breathing.
Authorities say two Virginia State Troopers, along with a Greensville County Sheriff’s deputy, removed the driver from the vehicle and immediately began CPR. Emergency medical crews arrived shortly after and continued lifesaving efforts, eventually restoring the driver’s pulse.
Officials believe a medical emergency may have caused the crash, though the exact circumstances remain under investigation. No additional details about the driver’s identity or current condition have been released.
