Springfield, IL – Illinois State Treasurer Michael W. Frerichs officially opened the 12th annual Cream of the Crop Photo Contest. Aimed at school-age photographers, the contest seeks to celebrate Illinois’ rich agricultural heritage through the eyes of its youth.

Entrants from ages 8-18 are encouraged to submit photos that showcase the beauty and diversity of agriculture in all seasons. With three age categories for submissions, the contest promises exciting opportunities for young photographers to highlight their creativity and perspective on the state’s agricultural scene.

According to the official contest website, submissions are accepted from March 13th through June 14th. Winners will be rewarded with Bright Start College Savings scholarships, supporting educational aspirations alongside artistic accomplishments. Participants can find more details and enter the contest at creamofthecropcontest.com.

This initiative not only fosters artistic talent but also serves as a platform for the younger generation to connect with and appreciate the significance of agriculture in Illinois.
