Kankakee Man Arrested on Drug Charges Following Shoplifting Report in Bradley

BRADLEY, IL – A Kankakee man was apprehended on drug charges after a reported shoplifting incident in Bradley over the weekend. Bradley Police received a call about shoplifting at a local store in the 2000 block of North Kenzie on Saturday night around 8:15 pm.

According to reports, while en route to the scene, officers spotted a vehicle matching the description of the alleged offender’s and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, identified as 64-year-old Calvin W Brown, matched the suspect’s description and was subsequently arrested. During a search of the vehicle, crack cocaine was allegedly discovered.

Brown is currently in custody at the Jerome Combs Detention Center, awaiting a bond hearing.
