Teen found fatally shot while sitting in parked car Sunday night in Kankakee

KANKAKEE – A teenager was found shot and killed while sitting in a parked car late Sunday night in downtown Kankakee.

City Police responded to the 600 block of South Nelson shortly after 10:45 pm after receiving reports of shots fired in the area.  Upon arrival, Police found the teen fatally shot in a parked car sitting in a residential driveway.

Officers report unknown offender(s) who had reportedly walked up to the vehicle before their arrival had fled the scene on foot.

The case is under investigation.
