HOBART, Ind. — The body recovered from Robinson Lake Wednesday has been ruled a suicide by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.

According to Hobart investigators Thursday, evidence collected from the vicinity of the crime scene yesterday indicated that there was a letter left by the decedent, who has not yet been positively identified, that he was going to take his own life.

The Hobart Police Department, which initially responded to the scene, thanked the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Hobart Fire Department, and the Lake County Coroner’s Office for their assistance.

If you or someone you know may be contemplating suicide, help is available. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline can be reached at 9-8-8 or by dialing 9-1-1 in an emergency.
