Dyer, IN – A collaborative effort by multiple law enforcement agencies has culminated in the arrest of several suspects linked to a string of armed robberies at gas stations in Dyer, Indiana.

The series of crimes, which began with a robbery at the Exxon gas station on Joliet Street on November 23, 2023, were followed by similar incidents at the Speedway and BP gas stations in December.

According to the Dyer Police Department, the prompt dissemination of the suspects’ descriptions after the Exxon robbery played a critical role in the quick apprehension of two individuals, Jerron Deon Appleton and James C. Krout, both facing armed robbery and criminal confinement charges. The investigation further identified Demarco C. Guy as a key suspect in the subsequent Speedway and BP robberies. Surveillance footage from the BP station led to the identification and arrest of another suspect, Jimmy L. Starks, charged with assisting a criminal.

A multi-agency collaboration not only led to the swift arrests of the suspects but also to multiple felony charges, including armed robbery and auto theft.
