SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – There soon could be much less paperwork involved for fishermen and hunters in Illinois.

A new bill proposed by State Senator Patrick Joyce (D-Essex) would allow Illinois residents to obtain a three-year hunting, fishing, trapping, and sportsmen’s combination license at three times the cost of an annual license.

House Bill 3677 aims to make the license renewal process easier and generate more revenue for the state’s conservation efforts. If the bill passes, Illinoisans will no longer have to renew their licenses for these activities every year, reducing the hassle of license renewal.

House Bill 3677 passed the Senate Agriculture Committee and now awaits consideration before the full Senate.
