Suspect Arrested in Ottawa After Tense Standoff With Police at Home

OTTAWA, IL – Gunshots rang out around Tuesday around 6:00PM on LaSalle St. and Main St.

According to Ottawa Police reports two vehicles bore the brunt of the bullets, no one was hurt in the crossfire. Early investigations suggest a quarrel between two individuals as the cause. 

A suspect in the shooting, identified Wednesday as 30-year-old Anthony Brito, was arrested at home after a brief standoff on Scott Street in a collaboration between LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response and Ottawa Police.

Brito was apprehended and charged with allegations of a Class 1 Felony for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm. He awaits bond assignment in LaSalle County Jail.
