Woman Declines Medical Attention After Car Flips into Kankakee River Late Sunday Night

Wilmington, IL – A woman, apparently unharmed, declined medical attention after her car flipped over into the Kankakee River late Sunday night. The incident, which occurred around 11:15 p.m. near the Des Plaines River Conservation Area, prompted a swift response from the Wilmington Fire Protection District.

After rescuing the woman from the overturned vehicle, emergency personnel evaluated her condition on the scene. Despite the dramatic circumstances, she chose not to receive further medical care or hospitalization. The cause of the vehicle’s descent into the river remains unclear, with ongoing investigations into how the accident happened.
