Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School Commencement Ceremony will take place after all for its Class of 2020. The Commencement will be a two-day event, May 4th, and May 5th.

The Commencement Ceremony will honor social distancing standards and allow graduates who wish to attend to wait in a hallway until their name is called during the ceremony to get their diplomas.

The event will be recorded at available for viewing via a private link sent to families at a later date on May 16th at 7:30.

BBCHS is allowing for students who do not wish to attend due to possible risk of COVID-19 exposure to submit a picture of themselves in their cap and gown to be featured in a production released later in May. Caps and gowns will be distributed at the high school later this week.

The 2019 BBCHS Graduation was streamed on its YouTube channel last year.

“This is an outstanding accomplishment, and you will use this degree as a springboard into your next chapter of life,” BBCHS Principal Brian Wright wrote in a letter to parents earlier this week. “Seniors will not gather as a graduating class as we normally would, but that will not stop us from celebrating your class in a unique way.”

This year’s class has 515 students walking across the stage. For those wondering, that’s over 3,000 feet needed to graduate this year’s class in order to adhere to distancing guidelines. In years past, thousands of area residents would attend the graduation.
