Two Severely Burned in Jasper County House Fire Overnight

JASPER COUNTY, Ind. – A house fire near the intersection of 6th St. and 1st in Keener Tuesday left two people severely burned. 

According to reports the fire, began around 10:59 p.m., prompted urgent calls for backup as early reports hinted at someone possibly trapped inside. Porter County EMS and helicopters rushed to assist the Keener Township Fire Department, with Wheatfield providing mutual aid. Two burn victims were later located and received immediate medical attention, requiring an emergency helicopter lift touching down at a nearby firehouse shortly after 11:30 p.m. for swift evacuation.

An investigation into the blaze is underway.
