PORTER COUNTY, Ind. – Late Sunday, Oct. 8, saw a tragic turn of events as Aquira Sparkman, 40, from Michigan City, was killed on U.S. Highway 20.

According to the Porter County Sheriff’s Police, witnesses report Sparkman was navigating traffic at an alarmingly high speed before he collided with a tow truck near North Brummitt Road, resulting in his fatal plunge from the motorcycle.

Even with a helmet on, the impact was too severe for Sparkman to withstand. Upon arriving at the scene, the Chesterton Fire Department found no signs of life.

As condolences pour in for the family, the investigation is ongoing with toxicology tests in progress
