BOURBONNAIS – Beginning June 1st, Olivet Nazarene University will see a leadership change for the first time in three decades.
Following a 15-month search, the Olivet Nazarene University Board of Trustees elected Gregg Chenoweth, Ph.D. as the next President of the University. Chenoweth becomes just the 13th President in the history of Olivet.
“I am honored by the confidence of the Board,” Chenoweth said after the election, “and eager to add my ambitions to a faculty and staff already doing something special. If I could help reproduce for students even a fraction of what Olivet did for me, there will be a lot to celebrate.”
Dr. Chenoweth will take leadership June 1, 2021, taking over for President Dr. John Bowling, who previously announced plans to retire in August 2019.
“I was delighted when I learned that the Board of Trustees had elected Dr. Gregg Chenoweth to be the next president of Olivet,” said Dr. Bowling. “Dr. Chenoweth is a gifted, experienced, and dedicated leader who has years of administrative experience. I am confident that he is the right person, at the right time for Olivet!”
Bowling has served as ONU’s president for the past three decades, expanding enrollment, adding buildings to the campus, and expanding both academics and degree programs.
