ANDERSON, IN – A juvenile led police on a chase Monday after a driver reportedly fled from Indiana State Police.
According to reports it happened at 10:13 p.m., when Troopers from the Indiana State Police Pendleton District were patrolling the area of Forkner Street and 13th Street in Anderson, Indiana. An Indiana Trooper noticed a black Dodge Charger with an expired license plate and initiated a traffic stop.
Troopers report when emergency lights were activated, the driver of the Dodge immediately exited the vehicle and ran on foot. That’s when a juvenile inside the vehicle got behind the wheel as the car remained in gear and allegedly tried to avoid officers, eventually coming to a rest at a dead end inside an apartment complex and police were able to apprehended the juvenile.
A search of the Charger revealed 67 grams of Fentanyl pills, along with a loaded 5.56 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a 45 round magazine and a loaded .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol.
The juvenile was taken into custody, however this investigation is still ongoing.
